Requirements for a medical records application
in a large Belgian hospital
"CHR de la Citadelle" wanted to select an integrated application covering the medical, nursing, and medico-administrative aspects of a hospital business.
The application is strategic for the hospital as it will become the medical software backbone with which all other applications (medical or administrative) shall communicate.
Objectiver has been used to elicit, analyze, integrate all viewpoints from doctors, nurses, the hospital management, technical and IT staff.
Context
- "CHR de la Citadelle" is a major Belgian public hospital (more than 1000 beds, 3500 employees, and 400 doctors).
- Medical records were mainly paper-based. Some department software applications and home-made medico-administrative applications covering the scope partially exist.
